Rebellion Defense
Led design for cybersecurity and logistics products in defense tech, transitioning from IC to design leadership.
Context
I joined Rebellion Defense as a Principal Product Designer working on Nova, a cybersecurity platform for defense applications. This meant ramping quickly on cybersecurity concepts, defense contracting, and the unique constraints of building software for government users.
During my time there, I transitioned into a Head of Design role, taking on responsibility for the design team and helping shape product strategy across multiple products.
Rebellion Nova
Nova is a cybersecurity platform that helps defenders detect and respond to threats. I overhauled the UI to improve usability for analysts working in high-stakes environments where speed and accuracy matter.
Rebellion Dispatch
I led design for Dispatch, a logistics and mission management platform. The product helped coordinate complex operations involving multiple teams, assets, and locations.

Design Leadership
As Head of Design, I managed the design team and worked to establish design practices that could scale with the company. This included connecting our work to an existing design system (Boba) and using it to rapidly prototype solutions for new problem spaces.
Outcomes
Nova: Shipped a major UI overhaul that improved analyst workflows and contributed to product demos and sales materials.
Dispatch: Led design for a new product area, establishing UX patterns for logistics and mission management.
Team: Grew into design leadership, managing designers and contributing to product strategy.
Reflection
Rebellion taught me how to work in highly constrained environments—classified networks, government procurement cycles, and users with very specific operational needs. The transition from IC to leadership also clarified what I value: I'm most effective when I can stay close to the craft while enabling others to do great work.
